The
Clever Fox and the Foolish Lion
Once upon a time, in a lush
green forest, lived a clever fox and a foolish lion. The lion was known for his
immense strength, while the fox was renowned for his cunning and wit. The other
animals in the forest respected the lion's power but admired the fox's
intelligence. One scorching summer day, as the forest suffered from a severe
drought, all the animals were desperately searching for water. The wise fox
knew of a hidden oasis, a secret watering hole tucked away in a far corner of
the forest. He decided to use this situation to his advantage. The clever fox
approached the thirsty lion and said, "Oh mighty lion, I have discovered a
magical pond that is said to contain the purest water in the entire forest. It
possesses the power to grant immense strength to those who drink from it.
"The foolish lion, enticed by the prospect of even greater strength,
eagerly asked the fox to lead the way. The fox, with a hidden smirk, led the
lion deeper into the forest, taking a longer route than necessary. After hours
of walking under the scorching sun, the lion grew tired and weak. He realized
that the fox had tricked him, but he could not turn back, as the thirst had
become unbearable. Finally, they arrived at a small pond, not more significant
than a puddle. The lion, disappointed and angry, glared at the fox, ready to
pounce on him. But before he could, the fox quickly explained, "Dear lion,
the true strength lies within us. The magical pond I mentioned was merely a
ruse to teach you a valuable lesson. True power comes from within and is not
dependent on external sources." The lion, humbled by the fox's words,
realized his foolishness. He understood that he had relied too much on his
physical strength and neglected to develop his intelligence and wisdom. From
that day forward, the lion and the fox became good friends, always supporting
and learning from one another. The moral of this fable is that true power is
not measured by physical strength alone. Intelligence, wit, and wisdom are
equally important attributes that can lead to success and fulfillment in life.
Allegory
of the Cave (Chavez)
Filipinos can’t accept
criticism the fact that they are very sensitive. It’s because majority of
Filipinos can’t handle constructive criticism. Sad, but true. It’s also
difficult for Filipinos to face the truth about our home country. If a fellow
Filipino points out the flaws in their country, other Filipinos will get upset.
It doesn’t matter
who is criticizing Filipinos whether it’s a Filipino or a foreigner. They will
still get mad regardless. There’s a term in the Philippines called “balat
sibuyas” or onion skinned. A skin of an onion is thin. So this implies that
Filipinos in general are thin skinned. Filipinos get easily offended. It’s okay
for Filipinos to make fun of other people but not the other way around. If you
make fun of them, then they’ll demand an apology. Even if you say
sorry, they’ll never be satisfied.
Depression and Anxiety- Spending a long time on social media will
probably cause a huge impact on us, the most negative impact is making us
depressed, sad, discouraged and frustrated. it happens when checking Instagram
you will see different people living their lives to the fullest and you're not having
what they have, leading you to compare yourself to them, makes you think they
are better than you which leads to anxiety and self- underestimating, that's
like in the allegory of the cave you feel like a prisoner who's chained and
can't stop comparing yourself to others.

Meditations
(Chavez)
I remember the last time I was
at my lowest. It was the moment my dog Bruce, a Belgian Malinois, passed away.
It was an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking experience for me. I had
raised my beloved Belgian Malinois since he was a puppy. We had shared
countless adventures, laughter, and moments of pure joy together. He was not
just a pet to me; he was a loyal companion and a true member of my family. When
he fell ill, I did everything I could to help him recover. I sought the best
veterinary care here in T’boli, followed all the prescribed treatments, and
showered him with love and attention. However, despite our efforts, his health
continued to deteriorate. The day he took his last breath was a day I will
never forget. I was by his side, holding him tightly, and whispering comforting
words into his ear. The pain in my heart was unbearable, and tears streamed
down my face uncontrollably. I felt a profound sense of loss and emptiness that
seemed to engulf me entirely. In the days that followed, grief consumed me. It
felt as though a piece of my soul had been torn away. The once lively and
energetic home now felt silent and desolate without his presence. The absence
of his wagging tail and his enthusiastic greetings when I returned home only
intensified my sorrow.
During this time, I found
solace in reflecting on the memories we had shared. I realized how fortunate I was to have had such a remarkable
companion in my life. I treasured the adventures we embarked on, the long walks
we took, and the unspoken connection we shared. Those memories became a source
of comfort, reminding me of the joy he brought into my life. Slowly but surely,
the weight of grief began to ease, replaced by a sense of gratitude for having
had the opportunity to love and be loved by such a wonderful creature. Though
the pain of his loss still lingers, I hold onto the belief that his spirit will
forever be with me, guiding me through life's challenges.
In
Conclusion, Losing my Belgian Malinois was undoubtedly one of the
lowest points in my life. But through that experience, I learned the profound
impact that the love and companionship of a pet can have on our lives. And even
in the depths of despair, I discovered the strength to cherish the memories and
find healing in the bonds we forge with those we hold dear.

In my
childhood, I always watch basketball, growing up I see my father playing
basketball, and at my early age I am starting to love playing basketball. I
remembered when I was in grade 5 I was pick by my coach to play against the
other school after that I quit playing basketball because of my weight and my
height and that I was started to pray that my height will increase and gain
more weight and that finally, when I was in grade 10 I was able to play again
in our school and I was so happy because all the time God had a plan to help me
reach my goals, and that time I was able to play in provincial meet and many
coaches in other school wants me to play in their school.(Philippians 4:13 “I
can do all things through Christ who strengthens me").
A
Room of One’s own by Virginia Woolf (Chavez)
1. "A Room of One's
Own" is an extended essay written by Virginia Woolf in 1929. It explores
the theme of women's creativity and the importance of having both physical and
financial independence to pursue it. The essay is based on two lectures Woolf delivered
at women's colleges in Cambridge University. Woolf begins by acknowledging the
historical disadvantages faced by women in the literary and intellectual
spheres. She argues that women's lack of education, limited opportunities, and
the male dominated nature of society have hindered their ability to achieve
their full creative potential. The title, "A Room of One's Own,"
symbolizes the need for women to have a space of their own where they can
think, write, and create without interruption or interference. Woolf emphasizes
the importance of privacy, quietness, and freedom from domestic
responsibilities to nurture one's creativity.
2. In "A Room of One's
Own," Woolf argues that women throughout history have been denied equal
opportunities for education, creative expression, and economic independence.
She highlights the historical exclusion of women from institutions such as
universities and the limited access they had to resources such as libraries and
financial support. This lack of access and autonomy, according to Woolf, has
hampered women's ability to develop their talents and contribute fully to
society.
Woolf's main thesis is that
women require both a physical and metaphorical "room of their own" in
order to cultivate their creativity. This refers to the need for women to have
personal space, freedom, and financial resources to pursue their intellectual
and artistic endeavors without the burden of societal expectations and
constraints.
While Woolf's essay is a work
of literature rather than a scholarly study, it presents a compelling argument
about the potential and abilities of women that are often suppressed by social
and cultural factors. Woolf herself was an accomplished writer who challenged
conventional norms and broke new ground in her own writing. She used her own
experiences and observations to highlight the limitations imposed on women and
to call for a more equal and inclusive society.
3. I
believe that women are generally regarded more positively today compared to the
past, with growing recognition of their capabilities and contributions. Women
now enjoy greater legal rights and opportunities in many parts of the world,
including the right to vote, access to education and employment, and
reproductive rights. However, despite significant progress, women still face
various challenges. Gender inequality persists, with issues such as the gender
pay gap, underrepresentation in leadership positions, and limited access to
healthcare and education in some regions.
4.
"A Room of One's Own" is a seminal feminist work that calls for
women's liberation and equality. It asserts that women must have the freedom,
both physically and financially, to pursue their intellectual and creative
ambitions. The essay remains a powerful and influential exploration of gender,
literature, and the barriers faced by women in the pursuit of artistic
expression.
